Kel Valley is located 19 km from Sharda and 90 km from Authmuqam in the Neelum District, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It is small remote valley at an altitude of 2097 meters above the level of sea. It is one of the most charismatic and incredible places of Neelum. The Shounter Nallah associates Neelam River at this area and forwards to Gilgit Agency over the pass of Shandur which is at an elevation of 4420 meters above the level of sea. Kel is a main hub of camp for mountaineering skills upto “Sarwaali Peak” which is 6326 meters high, and glacier which are considered to be the most gigantic peak and largest glaciers of the beautiful city Azad Kashmir.
Busses travel regularly in this route. It is recommendable to hire a jeep from the place Authmuqam for a tour into the magnificent valley. Ponies and horses can be hired regionally for tour to the internal part of the valley. Bazaar, banks, PCO, tourist motels and colleges are also present here. The boundary village over 38 km from Kel is an obsession yet unexplored. Sardari, Halmat, Tao Butt and Jamwari are popular for their significant beauty. From Kel, a large route goes towards Nanga Parbat over the spectacular Shounter Gali which has the height of 4420 meters above the level of sea. The attractive lush plateaus of Arang Kel can be achieved after 2 hours of adventurous hike from Kel, over 460 meter sloped from Neelam River, is a fantabulous area for tourists to visit.
