ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on the day of Wednesday delayed the anti-corruption rally in the city of Faisalabad scheduled for the day of May 8 over the problem of mistreatment of women.
Although, the party chief will address nation in the city of Peshawar and Bannu on the day of May 9 and 11, respectively.
In accordance to police sources, 5 persons have been recognized through a video regarded to the issue. These persons were recognized through Nadra’s Forensic department, the sources further added.
Police stated that teams have been made in case to arrest the culprits engaged in the harassment of women.
In accordance to party sources, the PTI chief was distressed over the problem of insolent attitude towards women in PTI rallies.
“After assaults on PTI female employees by the governing party goons, we’ve lost confidence in Punjab police,” Imran Khan stated.
The party leader on the issue of harassment claimed that the role of police was also being inquired.
The PTI leader added that no untoward tragedy happened during the strikes that went on for 126 days in the capital’s D-chowk during the year of 2014.
The PTI chief asserted that justice will be meted out to the elements engaged in the mistreatment of females in the proposed public gatherings, even if they’re within the party.
The tragedies of mismanagement and harassment of females were witnessed during the PTI’s twentieth foundation day rally at the area of F-9 Park on the day of April 24, when an unruly mob also attempted to reach near the stage. TV footage had also indicated that PTI supporters harassing female employees at the rally.
Imran Khan had declared another ‘anti-corruption’ party rally in the city of Faisalabad for the day of Sunday while addressing employees and supporters of his party at Chairing Cross on the area of Mall Road.
