On April 3rd, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena will visit Pakistan for the first time this week on an invitation of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Pakistan Foreign Affairs Ministry in a testimonial stated today the Sri Lankan President will be visiting Pakistan on 5-7 April 2015.
This will be his first visit as he is a newly elected President Sirisena, to Pakistan. Sri Lankan President had already visited China and England last month and India in February.
Throughout the visit, President Sirisena will come across his Pakistani counterpart. President Mamnoon Hussain will host a state ceremonial meal in honor of the renowned visitor.
Prime Minister Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will hold official talks with the President. Numerous MOUs/Agreements of collaboration in several fields would also be signed after the talks.
The Speaker, National Assembly of Pakistan, and senior Ministers will be also attending the visiting dignitary.
“Pakistan and Sri Lanka adore responsive and friendly relations. The political relations between the two countries were recognized in 1948. Since then, the mutual relations have mature from strength to strength. Being associates of SAARC and Commonwealth, Pakistan and Sri Lanka collaborate closely and harmonize with each other on matters of common interest and regional and international concern,” the Foreign Ministry statement reported.
