Shalman valley (Urdu: شلمان وادی) is situated in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan. The tehsil headquarters are resided at Landikotal City. It was previously a subdivision of Shalman Tehsil, but was upgraded to the status of a tehsil on the day of July 10, 2006 by the MNA Noor ul Haq Alqadri. The total area of the Tehsil is 2,230 square kilometers. Shalman comprises 2 sub divisions, Kam Shalman and Loe Shalman. There are two (2) parts of Shalman “Kam Shalman ” and ” Loe Shalman “. Shalman has the lowest Human Development Index in the province and second lowest in the country.
Shalman Valley, also spelled as Shilman or Shelman, is located in Khyber Agency near Peshawar city, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is 25 kilometers in the north of Landi Kotal. Shalman Valley is further divided into two parts, Kam Shalman and Loe Shalman. Kabul River enters from Afghanistan and passes through Shalman valley.
Shalmani also spelled as Shilmani, Shelmani,Sulemani is the tribe living in this valley as well as in other parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran.
